Jeff King, BBA, CEBS

Jeff brings over 20 years of industry experience to Pippy Insurance & Financial. His broad work history and in-depth familiarity with industry trends has been a noteworthy asset to the Pippy team.

Jeff began his career with a major Atlantic Canadian insurance company and subsequently joined an independent consulting firm where, for over 10 years, he specialized in employee benefits. At Pippy Insurance & Financial, Jeff continues to concentrate in his area of expertise inclusive of group retirement services, and individual life and wealth management while also expanding his product offerings to include group retirement services and individual life and wealth management. Regarded as both a vibrant and very approachable consultant, Jeff takes pride in responding promptly and creatively to client needs, as well as providing proactive consulting.

Jeff achieved his CEBS designation in 2003 and has a Life Insurance License (including accident and sickness) in addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Committed to the development of his local community, Jeff is a continuing supporter of various charities, completed a term as trustee with the Eastern School Board District, and an active volunteer with minor hockey.

Ian Pippy

Ian Pippy, B. Sc.

As President of Pippy Insurance & Financial, Ian brings 40 years of experience in the insurance and financial industry, as well as extensive knowledge of both life and employee benefit programs.

Highlighting this experience is a background of strong client relationships and strategic partnerships with national insurance companies. This capability enables Ian and the team at Pippy Insurance & Financial to develop unique insurance products and concepts for the client. Ian concentrates his efforts on looking after the client, providing expert advice and ensuring that client needs are fully met.

A respected professional, Ian is also active in his community: he is past chairperson for the C.A. Pippy Park Commission and a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship, awarded by Rotary International.

Janet St Croix

Janet St. Croix-Nolan, FMLI, ACS, AIAA

Janet’s career in the insurance industry has spanned almost 30 years. She spent most of her career with a major Atlantic Canadian insurance company and has been a member of our team since February 2014.

Janet holds a Fellow from the Life Management Institute (FMLI) as well as an Associate, Customer Service (ACS) designation and Associate, Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA) designation. She acquired her Life (including Accident & Sickness) Insurance License in 2005.

Locally-based, Janet is dedicated to working closely with plan administrators, providing personal service and client support for employee benefit plans. As an Employee Benefit Analyst, she is directly involved in responding to general enquiries pertaining to covered employee benefits, enquiries involving claims submission procedures, as well as claims, market analysis and problem resolution. She is also a Sales agent for Individual Health and Dental policies.

Sherry Blundon

Sherry Blundon

Sherry started with Pippy Insurance & Financial in 2017; she brings over 15 years experience in Customer Service and Client Management and obtained her Life Insurance license (including accident & sickness) in 2019.

In her current role, she is responsible for the day-to-day administration of individual insurance and wealth management.  Sherry also provides support with group benefits, individual health and travel insurance and is the Compliance Officer for our company.

Doug Pippy

Doug is the newest member of the Pippy Insurance & Financial team.  He entered the insurance industry in 2016 after graduating from Memorial University’s B.A. program.  Since then, he has been working closely with local business owners, helping develop their risk management and insurance strategies.  Doug achieved his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2019 and in doing so was awarded top academic student for his graduating class.  In the winter of 2019, Doug joined an elite group of national brokers, by earning his Associate in Insurance Production Canada (AIPC) designation.

In 2021, Doug continued his education within the insurance industry, earning his Life Insurance Life License (including accident & sickness) and is excited to be able to offer his clients a comprehensive solution to their insurance needs.  Doug tailors his focus towards helping young professionals and is a firm believer that having strong client relationships is the foundation to being able to fully meet his clients’ needs.

Outside of work Doug is an avid hockey player & volunteer coach within the St. John’s Minor Hockey Association.  He also has a passion for golf and spending time outdoors with his family.

Leanne O’Reilly

Leanne O’Reilly, CEBS

Leanne has a breadth of experience that spans 20 years in the industry. She holds a Life Insurance License (including accident and sickness) and CEBS designation. Offered in conjunction with Dalhousie University, CEBS is the premier certification in employee benefits and is the industry’s only designation in total compensation.

As an Employee Benefit Specialist with Pippy Insurance & Financial, Leanne is a dedicated and qualified local point-of-contact. She is responsible for the ongoing support of the firm’s employee benefit accounts. Through direct and regular contact, Leanne provides expert assistance to plan administrators and Human Resources staff.

As a member of industry associations, Leanne is well versed with, and has up-to-date information on, industry trends. That professional capability, together with a demonstrated understanding of the issues facing employers and employees, enables Leanne to make informed recommendations for our clients.

Leanne is a regional council member with the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute (CPBI) and is also Past President of the Better Business Bureau of Newfoundland & Labrador.
